Change rotation on motor?
 
So i have a Marca Miller-Nordyne p3ra-060k. The fan went out last night so took the motor apart and it was shot, bearings were shot and motor was toast. Went to the local parts warehouse and found a motor that would work for a replacement. Come to find out it is a Counter Clockwise motor and i need a Clockwise. Any way to change the rotation of it. Here are the specs on the motor. Thanks for the help.

All else being equal, can the fan blade be mounted upside-down?

The fan could possibly be mounted reverse.

Not really. It won't be moving the air in the right direction then.

Either get a fan blade that is for that rotation.
Or, get a dual run cap. And wire the motor up as a 3 wire instead of a 4 wire. And wire it to spin the right way.

No.

Actually wouldn't need to get a dual cap. You can convert your current capacitor set up to 3 wire.

What color wires does your motor have.

black
blue
red
yellow
brown
brown with white stripe
Any others?

Ok. So yellow is the common of the 208/230 volt. Right?

it shows black as common and yellow is the high speed line

Different. But no problem.

First cap off the brown with white stripe wire, its not used.

From L2 of the contactor or control board(which ever it is now). Run a wire to the capacitor(doesn't matter which terminal). Connect the brown wire from the motor to that same terminal. Connect the black wire to the opposite terminal. Connect the speed wires to their speed taps as you have them now.

Turn motor on. Watch which way it spins. If its the wrong way. Switch the brown and black wire on the capacitor(with power off and motor not spinning of course). It will spin the opposite direction then.

well here are the colors as follow

black - high speed
yellow - constant
red - low
blue - med high
orange - med low
brown - cap
brown/white - cap
green - ground

Then just substitute yellow for black in the instructions above.

was trying the formula you gave me and was turning over the motor at all. Plugged the black into t1 and brown/white and brown into the cap on opposite sides with a wire from t2 two one side of the cap. had the yellow at t2 also. turned the breaker on and fan kick the right way and was on high. went to tuck everything in and put it back together and the yellow was broken and laying in. though "crap". turned the breaker back on and the fan kicked again with no yellow connected. do not understand how its running but left it alone. thanks for all the help if i had not tried what you said i would have fallen upon this configuration.
