Central Air Conditioners with heat pumps

OK...
With natual gas getting so expensive, and with an air conditioner that is probably 25 years old, I'm considering replacing my existing unit with a unit that has heat pump capability also.

Considering I don't know what I don't know... what would you all advise? Are heat pumps to supplement gas forced air more expensive than AC alone? Reliable? Major tear up? Worth the trouble?

Central Air Conditioners with heat pumps

How you apply the product is directly related to your location. You can get 100% heat pump with electric back up heat, heat pump with gas change over. Your location, weather, and required equipment size will be the desiding factors.
