Carrier zone control setting question

I have the Carrier Zone Control II system. One of the settings is listed as: "Temperature Offset Adjustment" with the description stating: Each zone temperature reading can be offset by up to + or - 5 degrees. The offset is added to the actual zone temperature to produce the offset zone temperature.

What does this feature do?

 It for when your customer has some cheapo hand held temp meter and thinks the thermostat is wrong....

Its reading 2 degrees too low? Let me fix that so it matches you ACME thermometer.

It's also a way of convincing someone that is always saying, but if I could just set it to 72 I'd be warm. You put the offset into it and say go ahead.
