carrier weathermaker won't stay lit

I'll start with the startup process. First of all the blower is always on high, I push the reset button turn the thermostat and the gas knob on. The inducer starts turning and about 10-15 seconds after that the blower turns off. The HSI starts glowing red and then the gas relay is tripped by the controal unit and the burners turn on, about 65 seconds of the burner being on the blower starts back up and about 10-15 seconds after that the burners shut off and the blower is stuck on. if i turn the thermostat blower position to off it keeps going. I tried moving the sensor out of the way of the flame and the burners only stay on for about 3 seconds. I initiated the self test feature and I herd all the relays on the controal unit turn on and off with the accompanying devices when applicable. Why won't my bruners stay on and why won't the blower turn off, I have a feeling the two problems are related.

Thanks in advance
Nick

I get no flashing led on the controal board and if the unit's power switch is turned off and turned back on while the thermostat is off the blower still turns on high.

If you aren't moving enough air across the heat exchanger ie, dirty filter or coil. The high limit could be opening & turning the burners off. If the limit opens the blower will come on. the chamber cools down limit closes & the process starts over again. Others will give opinions / advise when they log on

The air filter has been ruled out; however, I do not know how to find out if it is a dirty coil as you say. The blower will never turn off by itself if I don't turn it off, or reset the system with the switch it just stays on. I don't know if you were clear on that based on your reply.

If that is the case, sounds to me like the secondary heat exchanger is plugged and will need replaced. This will be under carriers warranty but labor to do job is not covered.

Sounds like your burners are cutting off on limit. You need to call a pro to check it / repair Like stated above possibly stopped up secondary. cracked primary or dirty coil. how old is the furnace ?
