Carrier System Sizing & Advice

I have two competing bids for a new furnace and A/C system. Currently I have 2 furnaces (80000btu) and 2 AC units (2.5 ton each). The system is configured with one system for the upstairs and one for the down stairs. One of the A/C units is 35 years old. Both broke on the same day (one motor and one capacitor). I have two competing bids and am not sure how to choose. The discrepancy in heat load is most confusing to me. The house was built in 1970, is 3500 ft2 and is in Northern Ohio. I assume I can negotiate these down a little, but not sure what is reasonable. Also not sure about AprilAire and Mechanical Filters. Any advice appreciated!

Option 1 - Total Price $16,683 (assume $1,100 Rebate will be deducted from this number)

Load calculation: 126,000 BTU

Recommendation:2 systems
2 - Two-Speed Furnace 96% Two-Spd
2 - Performance Series Air Conditioning One-Speed Condensing Sections 16.0 SEER
2 - April Aire systems
2 - Filter systems
2 - Thermostats

Option 2:
$14,950 or $15,960 ($1,100 Rebate will be deducted from this number)

Load Calculation 99,000 BTU

Recommendation:

Infinity Series Furnaces ($9471)
Carrier Modulating Capacity Furnace model (output 117000btu) 59MN7A080V17-14, 97% Mod $6,436.00
1 – Aprilaire Model# 2410 High Efficiency Mechanical Air Filter .………………….... $329.00
1 - Carrier Model# HUMCCLBP-2417 Humidifier .............. $359.00
1 – Carrier Infinity Zoning System (3 zones) ..... $2,347.00

One of the following:
Infinity Series Air Conditioning
Two-Speed Condensing Sections with Puron Refrigerant
24ANB760 10 Years 10Prts/5Labr 17.0 SEER ..........$6,489.00

Performance Series Air Conditioning
One-Speed Condensing Sections with Puron Refrigerant
24ACC660 10 Years 10Prts/5Labr 16.0 SEER .......$5,442.00

Well, no. But that is why the price is important. Rebate is from Carrier. Do prices go up $1100 just because of the promotion?

there is no expected price... choose a contractor that will give a quality install and be there when the thing quits....... cheap price is normally what everyone chooses..... i would prefer a company that is there when I need them....

OK, what is an average cost? I don't want to be taken even for a good contractor.

Prices vary by the area. What someone on the internet may think is overboard, may be low for someone elses area.
