Default Carrier pressure switch test

A furnace technician recently checked my furnace. He pulled the tube off the pressure safety switch and told me the fan motor should stop. I then replaced the switch and tried it again. Same thing. I called him and he said "no, I said the flame should go out". So I pulled the tube and watched the flame for 30 seconds and it did not go out. Which is correct and do I still have a problem, ie what should occur if you remove the pressure from that switch. Thanx in advance.

Depends if it has 2 hoses to it or 1. If one then it should shut off the burner. Post the model # here. Is it a high efficiency unit with plastic venting pipes or one with a metal pipe to the chimney? A picture of the furnace and switch will help also.

Yep. If its a 2 hose switch. If you pull the wrong hose, it can stay running(or is that the right hose).

If the switch is bad, the furnace shouldn't make it to the ignition cycle.
