Carrier Infinity Thermostat "Staging"

I just got the wonderful Carrier Infinity System. Nice...

58MVB080-14 Furnace, Electronic Air Cleaner, with Carrier N Coil, Lennox 15 Seer Single stage Outdoor A/C and the Infinity Thermostat.

I have a question regarding the thermostat...I can program it for something called "Staging"

I see that it controls the staging of the furnace and can be set to System (Thermostat), Low, High, or Furnace.

I know what the low and high are for, but what would be best for setting. System or Furnace?

Furnace allows the furnace algorithm to control staging.

Which is best???

Thanks

Carrier Infinity Thermostat "Staging"

Hi Adrianjohnm

First of congratulations on your purchase. To answer your question, don't set any peramiters in your controller as this will limit your furnaces ability to learn. The system you have has an intelligent staging if you let it teach its self. It will learn the required heat load as well as your required cooling load. This will keep your system as efficient as it was designed.

Good luck
Rusty

Carrier Infinity Thermostat "Staging"

Yes, I do love the system. It is fantastic. Computerized and learning ability...How cool

Is the Infinity system the only one like that???

Also, I guess with your anser I should keep the Infinity Thermostart on "System" and not put it on "Furnace" , when it comes to "staging"

Thanks for all you assistance.

I love my Infinity!!!
