Carrier infinity thermostat problem

I have a carrier heat pump system in my house and every time the power goes out, the thermostat defaults to a/c when the power comes back on. The settings are still the same but I have to switch it back to heat. My upstairs unit doesn't do this, it just comes back on to whatever it was on. Any ideas?

Are they different stats? Does The up stairs have battery backup and the down does not?

List thermostat model.

They are the same thermostat. I don't know if they have battery back up or not. I will check that when I get home tonight. All of my settings stay the same. If it was a battery prob, everything would have to be reset right?

Not sure, just asking to help have mor info for the experts. I have 2 non battery operated stats that return to correct settings upon power failure.

Sounds like yours may have an internal setting different between the two, but just guessing until we get model number and experts here.

I assume you have not called maker?

I'm not sure of the model of the thermostat but I searched the image and all they call it is The Infinity Thermostat Control System.
