Carrier Infinity shut down, drain is not clogged
Today our carrier infinity totally shut down. Breakers are fine, drain line is fine. Before i call for a weekend service call, any thing I could check out myself? This has happened before. Thermostat is dead. Last time it was a drain line, but this time there is no water in the pan, or the line. So it is not the automatic shut off. We had a thunderstorm earlier. I didn't notice just when the AC went out, but the power did go off for about a minute. When everything just shuts off, I'm baffled!

if the stat has no LED display might of tripped the CB on the low side of the TR in the furnace or burnt primary 115V or secondary side 24V..pull stat and subbase... R to C should be a constant

Carrier Infinity shut down, drain is not clogged
Well, I checked everything breakers etc.
So I once again decided to play with the drain. I ran some bleach and a lot of water through it. By the time I came down out of the attic, the thermostat was on again and it started running. I don't really understand because there was no sitting water in the drain near the shutoff. Thanks to all who gave me suggestions on what to check. Last edited by Kenny48; 07-27-2011 at 11:20 PM.
