Hi Everyone, first post. But I guess you gotta start somewhere. I actually came here b-c all of the good advice I found while googling installing a humidifer.
OK the prob is I went to a friends parents place to help install Honeywell 220A Hum. into a fairly new Carrier Gas Furnace 92 Comfort Zone? I believe is the model.
Seemed very straight fwd and had no issues mounting it on the return with the humidistat above it. But while we were there my friend kicked the condensation pump(Little Giant), broke the discharge piece of and then it rained
I am not that fa miler with low voltage wiring at all ( plumber by trade ) I didn't want the pump coming back on so I disconnected the wires running to the pump. I missed the fact it was plugged in....so later that night when they had no heat, the home owner came down noticed the wires disconnected tied them together and the furnace came on.
When I went back today the heat was on, no one told me of the issue so i fixed the pump tied in the drain line. Then turned the power off at the switch at the furnace so I could plug the lines from the regulator into the board. Again no prob. I then noticed the 2 lines tied together and hooked back up the pump.
No I am getting nothing. I am calling for heat at the thermostat and it not even trying to kick on. I thought maybe it was the HUM/Nue wires I had connected so I disconnected them, nothing. Re-tied the condensate pump lines together. Nothing.
At 10 something I had to call it a nite. I know when I am beat, I know getting someone out there tomorrow would be impossible. So please if you can offer any help it's very appreciated. Very old friends, very old parents and I don't feel good at all leaving them without heat.
Thanks~ honestly you have no idea
