Question

Carrier furnace fan wouldn't shut off

Product #
fa4anf042000afaa

Model #
fa4anf042

Serial #
4599a19950

The fan wouldn't shut off when the furnace shut off...so I it apart and found that a switch had been burnt. I had a HVAC guy come out and he said that the panel is made of plastic and that Carrier changed that now and that the new part would be $550....plus $150 to replace it. I'm going to contact the local Carrier service guy, but Carrier the Company said that this part was not a recall. Any help out there? I just thought the switch could be replaced, but in Louisiana only HVAC folks can purchase parts.

Buy the new board over the internet from amazon. It's less than $70.

The part number is printed in black figures right on the board.

Apex a site sponser has a very good website with links to manufacturers websites. My local guys were in no hurry to get me my parts & I called Apex after checking their website and they 2nd day aired my parts a lot less expensive than locals and it was dif part # but exact Honeywell part, not a 'universal" I'd have to make fit. It was plug and go. Good luck. Cliff

Amazon carries Carrier and ICM which are generic lower priced boards.
