Carrier Furnace: Code 42

I have a Carrier furnace that is less than 6 months out of the warranty period. We had to have a board replaced last April (less than 1 year ago) due to the same error code being thrown out.

The furnace will kick on intermittently, but is having trouble maintaining a temp of 72. This morning when I woke up at 4:30am it was 64 in the house, but by the time my husband woke up (around 8:30) the temp was fine. So it appears as if it i sometimes working and sometimes not.

Could this be the same board issue? Is there anything else we can look for? The PVC piping is fine. We were down there for an extended period yesterday changing out our water heater that died yesterday...

If it is the board we can get it replaced with only paying labor costs since it was less than 1 year ago. Tomorrow I plan on also calling Carrier about this since the furnace had the same issue less than 1 year ago and is less than 6 months out of warranty to see if they can further help me. I have a service call put in with a local carrier dealer and they are scheduled to come out tomorrow.

you can't. It must be done by a professional with the carrier book that list what terminals do what on that variable speed inducer.
