Question

Carrier Furnace 58PAV090

I turned off the power and gas to my garage furnace this spring. This weekend I turned on the gas, flicked the internal gas swith to on, and the power back on this weekend, and all I get is the blower and the electric ignitor. No heat, and it doesnt seem/smell like any gas is coming out. I've checked to make sure both gas valves are on.

Any suggestions

Cheers and thanks in advance.

You probaly need to bleed the gas line, it might have some air in it , if there is a union near the unit loosen it up a little until you smell gas then tighten it and then retry you furnace.

Anything else? should I take my compressor and give the gas line a very quick blow? A neighbour mentioned that but I wasn't sure(because he wasnt)

Well it worked. Maybe I didnt explain that very well. It's all black pipe, and I removed a piece and couldnt smell any gas. I gave it a small blast(not towards the furnace)with the smallest chuck I could find and it started whistling gas out. I then waited just over an hour for the gas to clear. Reset the power and shazam!!! Heat!

Anything I can do next year to make sure the line doesnt get blocked again? should I leave the gas on, and just put the thermo to 5 degrees(which will never happen in the spring/summer even up here in the frozen tundra)?

Thanks HvacWiz I really didnt think the line from the meter to the furnace could have been the issue(but it was)
