Carrier Error Code 33

I’m having a somewhat strange problem with my Carrier furnace model 58PAV135-16( installed around 1997??? Before I bought the house). Recently it started showing error code 33 when it calls for heat for an extended period of time.

I have the temp drop to 65 degrees during the day when nobody is home. When it starts to return the temp to 70 degrees in the evening it will only run for about 3 minutes and then shuts off. Gets error code 13 then immediately turns to code 33. It then waits for a period of time and kicks on again repeating this process until it eventually obtains the desired temperature. Once the desired temp is reach it will run without the error code until the next day when the extended call for heat starts again. When I remove the air filter (which is brand new) the furnace will run with no errors. I even tried another new filter and same issue. I verified all of the returns and registers are open. Normal airflow from registers.

Appears to me that the temp limit switch is getting tripped but I am confused as to why. Seems that if I remove the filter and it works fine there might be an airflow issue but none of the duct work has changed.. Could it be the blower motor? From what I can tell its blowing plenty of air from the vents. Not sure if they slow down after a number of years?

Yes they do. May also have a weak capacitor. Do you have AC. If so check the underside of the coil for dirt. Builds up and slows down the airflow.

Thanks for the reply. I vacuumed the a/c coil this evening and same problem. It did run for a few minutes longer though. So definitely an airflow issue. I have my furnace checkup scheduled for next week so I will just pull the filter until then...
