Carrier comfort zone II upgrade from comfort zone question

I just moved into a home that at one point was set up with 4 zones, the previous owner pulled out the zone thermostat and hooked up a single one. He said that a few years ago something “broke” with the zoning system and he did not want to pay to fix it. Well the house has about 4000 sq feet of space and there are only 2 of us in it right now and would like to get the zones working again.

they are

1. master on main floor
2. main living area on main floor
3. 2nd floor
4. walkout lower level

I am assuming that the control board died on him even though I do not see any burnt capacitors or anything on it, all the wiring is still there and looks hooked up (well most is there because now the control board is bypassed) and the dampers are just in the open position.

So my question is it as simple as buying the comfort zone II and plugging in all the wires where they should go by looking at where they currently are on the original board, then hooking up the thermostat?

I guess I would need to test the dampers as well any sugesstions?

Thanks for your help!

I don't know myself.

But maybe Houston204 will see your post. I think he's a Carrier guy.

Is this something I can just swap out myself? looks like it to me.. also I'm having a heck of time finding the part is this becasue its a carrier product? any directions on where to find it?
