carrier 9200 furnace water leak

Our 9200 carrier weather maker furnace has puddles of water around the base of the furnace. It looks like it's leaking under the inducer housing drain tube is what the manual seems to show. Can these hoses be replaced easily? We don't find much detail in the manual for ordering parts by diagram.

You have to buy an EXPENSIVE kit/package of hoses with all of them in one bag from Carrier.

How expensive is EXPENSIVE? As much as having a professional come and do the repair?? We are going to try to flush the hoses with Propelyne Glycol as described in the manual when we can get to a place that has just that instead of the auto antifreeze.

Not sure about the glycol comment. That funny accordion looking hose usually cracks at the accordion folds. Check them to see if that is the leak. Last time I checked the kit was around $80-100 my cost 3yrs ago and I get the Pro discount. One of our posters HAir Direct may be able to order it for you and get a decent price. Glycol is used to winterize the condensate trap if the unit is in a cottage etc. Read the thread below yours.

Thanks for the information. I suspected the hoses were leaking at those accordion folds. Would it be possible to replace the hoses with generic hose or does it have to be heat resistant or for some reason accordion pleated? We have aquarium hose that's the right diameter.

It is very difficult to keep that hose from kinking. If you can great! If it kinks then the water backs up in the ventor fan and the furnace shuts down. Not heat resistant required. Marvel of engineering those hoses. add .com to our friend.
