Carrier 9200 Blower Fried?

My furnace made a high pitched noise and a burning fan belt smell last night so turned if off.

This morning I opened it up and found the the air filter had been sucked into the squirrel cage and jammed it.

I cleared the jammed cage and restarted the furnace. It seemed to start up just fine until the fan motor clicked on. There was the high pitched sound when the motor clicked on plus the smell and the cage looked like it was trying to turn, but only barely...I am hoping maybe the set screw was broken? Or worse the motor burned out... Is it the motor? If so, is this a job I could do?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

motor blown. You can do it yourself but you'll have to get the exact same hp and rpm motor and you have to make sure it's a blower motor and not a condenser fan motor.

Thanks Doc...I really appreciate the quick response. Any suggestions on where to look for said motor??? Online or local?

Gratefully, Treatgang
