carrier 58sx100-cc-1 induce motor not running

My 58sx100-cc-1 furnace blower motor runs continuously (even when the thermostat is turned to "off"), but induce motor does not run at all, so we don't have heat at the house right now. We just replaced control board and gas valve last year. Also I got 24V reading between SEC-1 and SEC-2 on control board. So the transformer is not the problem. I jumped R and W at T_stat and couldn't fix the problem. What could be bad? Limit switch, pressure switch or control board? Thanks.

I'd check for corroded terminals at that edge pin connector to the main circuit board (10B1) and check for continuity across limit 7H1.

Hi Houston204,

I checked the limit 7H1 and got 0.3 ohm. I bypassed limit switch and nothing happened. I then pull out 10B1 and found the terminals are all black/grey because it was fried last year . Should I replace the connector? Thanks again!

Each wire can be removed from that connector with a very small screwdriver for cleaning if you still have metal there.

Otherwise replace the harness on that 20 year old furnace if it is still a safe furnace. ( But I would not trust a 20 year old furnace on my house)

Houston204, thanks for your suggestion! I tried to remove wires in the connector and broke the white wire (#7). I can't believe it's so hard to remove the wires. Should I use a special tool or I did incorrectly? I will try to remove them tomorrow. It would be great if I can find a new harness in a local store (Home depot, HVAC parts store etc.). The temperature will drop in a couple of days here in WI ;-( !
