Carrier 58RAV Continuous On

yanosan Newbie   Join Date: Dec 2008 Posts: 4	Carrier 58RAV Continuous On After the re-install of a igniter, my furnace does not seem to respond to settings at thermo. At the furnace i get LED constant on (24V code) and furnace stays on blowing air and heat. The only way to turn it off is to hit the breaker etc. I've replace batteries in thermo etc. but heat keeps blasting.

beenthere An old Tradesmen   Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: PA Posts: 18,643	Carrier 58RAV Continuous On Go seperate the wires you bumped. Probably a red and white wire.

yanosan Newbie   Join Date: Dec 2008 Posts: 4	Carrier 58RAV Continuous On Thanks, It turns out that the HvAC guy who came to diagnose the problem (igniter was bad) left a "jumper" connecting the red and white terminals (just like you said). I removed the wire and things roll along nicely.
