Carrier 58RAV Continuous On

I recently changed out an igniter unit for my Carrier 58RAV. The Furnace is coupled with a Honeywell digital Thermostat.

Upon going through the restart of the furnace I got:

-Continuous "On" LED status implies "Control has 24VAC power"
-Furnace Blows heat constantly (not cycling) regardless of the setting of the Program OR Hold temperature setting displayed on the Thermostat.

I've replaced the batteries at the Thermostat with no affect.

The service manual does not give me a "next step" or troubleshooting fix for this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will send the post that best helps me resolve this situation a thank you gift (that is no charge) of one of my company's award winning Lighted Umbrellas.
thanks so much.

Carrier 58RAV Continuous On

Is the furnace heating (burners on) or just blowing air? Does the furnace still run with the thermostat switched off and the fan set to auto? Could be that the thermostat wires are shorted together. Was the thermostat bypassed on the circuit board to test the ignitor and the jumper left on?
