Carrier 58RAV Blower Stays On Error 33

Hey folks, I have a problem this morning with my furnace. I've spent the morning trolling boards looking for troubleshooting tips and clues. I think I may need to replace the control board, but would like some feedback.

Carrier Model 58RAV095-16 Series 130
Controller: CEPL130438-01 / 0428HK42FZ013
This controller was replaced in 2004.

Symptoms:
  • The blower stays on. Even if I shut off the thermostat and cycle power at the furnace, the blower starts back up after about 5 seconds and stays on (for over 5 minutes until I power off).
  • The controller fault code reads 33 (limit circuits), and after 4-5 minutes switches to 13 (limit lock).
  • I've tried the component self test as well. By jumping Test/TWIN to 24V. The LED responds but no change, no apparent cycling of components. Notably perhaps the inductor doesn't spin up as part of the component test. Basically, the blower stays running.
I'v checked the 3 limit sensors (2 on the gas manifold, 1 on the draft flue), and none of them are popped. Verified with continuity check.

Can't find any other reset switches.

So I'm guessing it's a board.

Assuming this is correct:
  • should I be looking for a straight replacement for the CEPL130438-01 or is there a more recent replacement part?
  • can you suggest any sites where I can find it? I found only AmericanHVACParts and what appears to be a duplicate/sister site bestbuyheatingandairconditioning... both suggested replacing with CIB42FZ013.
Any comments / suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance.

None of those are high limits.

The high limit will be mounted on the jacket inside the panel you have off. And I believe its on teh right side.

ok, thanks for the pointer. I'm having trouble locating the high limit you mention. Here are a couple of pics. I've circled the 3 sensors I mentioned. Maybe these will help you point me at it. (?)

main (high) limit is behind the gas valve in the pic.

And there should be one mounted above or on the side of the main blower. Has a manual red reset button on it. More than likely the one above the gas valve blew from overheating/cycling too often.

You guys are great. Now that I see it, I should have noticed the serial wiring with the other two on the manifold. This device is the open circuit. I can't find a reset, so I guess I get to find a replacement. Here's a pic of the device. Thanks for your help. We did cover a register the night this failed, so I'm guessing that contributed, but I'm going to have someone come out and inspect the ducting anyway.

I'll post back if this isn't the fix.
