Carrier 58GFA Furnace

In heat mode, blower and burners cycle on and off continuousy. You can hear the burners kick on, blower starts ups, runs for a minute, then shuts down. Whole operation then restarts, this is how it operates all the time. I would think it would crank up and then operate untill temp has been reached and then shut down, like the AC? Is this normal or is something wrong? Bob

No it is not normal. After it shuts down the first time how long does it take 2 restart. Your motor may be failing and it is cutting out on the limit control or you may have a problem with something else. Post some pics of it with both doors off for more help. We need to see what controls it has.

first clean the flame sensor next to pilot just take a dollar bill and clean it or a green scotch brite. if that does not do the trick the fan control switch is failing.it is in the front goes to the heat area of heat exchanger senses when temp is warm enough to turn fan on and when furnace shuts off it leaves fan on untill furnace is cool.
