carrier 24ABB3 13 seer 4 ton

Does anyone know anything about this central air conditioner? What is the warranty, is it a builders grade, does it lack compressor protection? I am just not sure about anything on this model. Would love some feed back if at all possible.

Builders grade/entry level without protection. Is there a 48 after the ABB3 somewhere in the model number? That would mean it's a four ton.

yes it is a 4 ton and thank you for your information. greatly appreciated. I still would like to know the warranty. That is one thing I am not sure on. hopefully I get the answer. The complete number is 24ABB348A003. My main reason I am asking all these questions is because I'm just wondering if it would be a good unit to purchase?

Typically 5 yr warranty on compressor, 1 year on all other parts. Depending on age you may have been able to register product within certain time frame and recieve additional 5 yr warranty on compressor.

If you are considering buying then you would be able to get the 10 years by registering your product within 90 days after install. Not a deluxe unit, but very servicable. Have sold many over the years with great results.

As stated you will get the minimum of a 5 year warranty on the compressor and to answer your other question, if the unit is worth buying, no. The installing company is what'll make the difference as all equipment is the same, at each level of model comparatively.

I install Payne (younger sister company) over Carrier and never have had any problems. They're slightly less expensive plus they look great.
