Capacitor question....

Why do the A/C unit Manufacturers choose to use a start and a run capacitor(2) opposed to a single dual-run capacitor?

Max no difference. Most of the new units I see have a dual capacitor as it saves space in the elec box and requires less wiring. Some of the deluxe units have a factory hard start kit which includes another capacitor and potential relay to remove it as the compressor gets up to speed.

CSR system needs to have extra "push" ( Start Cap + Potential Relay ) to start the compressor.

PSC system doesn't need this extra "push" so dual capacitor (Run Cap) is fine.
