can't find old replacement parts, need Air Handler coils, junkyard?

Hi,
I just padi 99 bucks to a HVAC guy tell me that my coil for my indoor unit has a leak so that's why AC is blowing hot air. Since the unit is 14 years old, they say that no one has these parts anymore and that to replace the whole unit would be 1800.00. I'm only 24, first time homeowner, i don't have that kind of money. is there a junk place or used HVAC equipment store where I can buy just the coil(condensation coil)? I need help. Where can I buy used/old parts for replacement?
I'd appreciate any help!!
Thanks,
Sammi

Wow...sounds like you should do some phone work and get some other opinions. A leaking A coil is not uncommon, but I would be curious why that can't get a new coil to install?

Being 14+ years old you should replace condenser and indoor evaporater coil. You would be getting very effiant unit witch will save in electric and problem free for a very long time. You could replace the indoor evaporater coil alone but not recommended. Lets say you change only the indoor coil, now next year the condenser breaks down.you will pay for a service call than you most likey will replace the condenser, service guy now has to reclaim the refrigerant for the 2nd time$$ REcharge the system. (( keep sytems matched or warrenty may be voided)) if your a/c was under 10 years old then only change evaporater
