Can the exaust duct be relocated to the side of the furnace?

Hi,

I would like to install Aprilaire 2410 into my existing furnace. My question is can I relocate the exhaust ducting to the side of the furnace? Thus the new ducting need to be enclose with a sheet metal box? Why is the exaust duct has white deposit? The current ducting location does not allow me to remove the air filter easily. Attached is the picture showing my configuration. The furnace I have is a Rheem classic series super quiet 80. I need to do this before winter come. I am located in Seattle, WA.

I would say no... Check your instructions. If they say no. then no. We aren't allowed to use those flex vent connectors here
