A/C unit not cooling


What are the signs to let me know if my TXV isnt working.What should I look for concerning pressures or how can I check it?

A/C unit not cooling


higher than normal head pressure. lower than normal suction pressure. higher than normal amp draw on compressor. higher than normal superheat. no cooling or not enough cooling.

My previous post was for txv restricting too much. this could go bad the outher way and not restrict enought. In that case most posted above would be reversed ecept the superheat. lower head, higher suction and lower amps.

if your pressures wont stabilize and are moving up and down, this is called "hunting" and is a sign that the tx is bad
