I just paid $451 for an A/C service call and the next day it still doesn't work!
Here is the description of work from invoice:
"No A/C. Checked unit compressor out on overload, cooled to reset, checked unit low charge, added 2 lb R-22 to system unit, working now. Amps ok, non condensibles present in system (debris) potential problem later. Recommend leak search & repair - remove all R-22
Notes: blowout w/ nitro vacuum w/ filter dryer & recharge. Or upgrade machine to 4 ton A/c & coil"
total material: 2 lb R-22 = $167
total labor: 1.5 hr = $284
Total bill: = $451
I think this is a total rip-off! Why not check for a leak before adding more R-22? Plus, there was no mention of a possible leak made on the phone when approving this work.
Upon calling back, they say there's no guarantee on R-22 refilling.
So looks like I'm out $450 and still w/ no A/C.
Total Rip-Off!
