A/C problem or are we setting it wrong?

We have a new construction 2 story house in coastal Ga. It has a single Goodman unit with 2 thermostats (1 upstairs, 1 downstairs). 2 zones with dampers.

We have it set on 74 upstairs and 75 or 74 downstairs. Its cooling the problem is it will only kick off for about a minute or 2 then kick right back on and it's only 74 degrees outside right now.

Do we have the thermostats set wrong or do you think there is a problem with the unit?

it will run if there is a call for cooling. it is likely that one zone is finishing it call and the other zone starts calling soon after. This is a problem that can happen with zoned systems.

you are close to set point temperatures so, you might need your zone control and thermostats set up to allow for some differential between start and stop including zone over rides so unit doesn't short cycle
