A/C compressor terminal broke off

MigitLuver Newbie     Join Date: Jan 2012 Posts: 12	A/C compressor terminal broke off I checked the terminals on the compressor and the black wire was loose when I grabbed it. The wire is still crimped on to the terminal but the terminal completely broke off the compressor. Is there any way to solder the terminal back on to the compressor? Or is it beyond repair. Thanks

Thanks Some sorta clue as to what the you are working on would be helpful. John Deere combine? Chevrolet Impala? Westinghouse window air conditioner? biggles Member     Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Long Island Posts: 3,197	A/C compressor terminal broke off if the wire broke off the crimp connector yes it can be recrimped..but if the terminal that it slides onto broke then you need a new compressor.the wire is either eyelet screw down or slip-on

I tried to solder it (with an iron, not a torch) but was extremely unsuccessful. I found somebody to replace the unit. It was pretty close to the compressor cost so I chose that rout. Thanks again.
