A/C blowing hot air after replacing capacitor.

Does anyone know what the problem may be after I've replaced a bad capacitor, yet ac still is blowing hot air? Prior to turning on the ac, the room temperature was 83 degrees. Rather than cooling the room, after turning on the ac on with a new capacitor, the room temperature raised to 88 degrees in half hour. I let it run for 6 hours to give the capacitor a chance to start, but no luck. What to do?

You have an electrical tester which test microfarads, to test these caps? To test voltage? Did you wire it in properly? Is the compressor running, the condenser fan?

Was this a fan capacitor, a compressor capacitor or a dual run capacitor which runs both the fan and compressor?

Is the condenser fan spinning in the right direction, blowing warm air up and out of the condenser?
