bypass humidifier question

I'm in the process of getting a bypass humidifier installed on my infinity furnace.
I understand that the water supply could either be tapped into either hot or cold.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

Hot water will evaporate a lot faster and get into the air better and more efficiently

bypass humidifier question

Make sure if you use hot water, that you dont tap into a large line if it's too far from the water heater. I just installed one in my house a couple weeks back and they use so little water, that the line never got hot.
I ended up having to run a dedicated 1/4 inch line directly to the water heater, about 25 feet.
