buying parts online ?
i want to get a few spare parts for my furnace, so i have them on hard should/when a break down occur. i have a TAPPAN furnace, says NORDYNE on the inside sticker. when i was looking up parts, i found a place that listed my nordyne parts. it had only 1 listing for each part. does this seem right for this brand ?
also, is there a good place to get parts online ? one to stay away from ?
thanx.
btw, i am looking for a start/run capp. and a hsi.

Run caps can be gotten from a lot of different sites. oesn't have to be listed for a Nordyne. Just need to match the uF rating and be the same voltage or higher voltage. HSI can be generic also.

You don't know.
Don't for a second believe that Tappan (or Trane or Rheem or Lennox or any other other appliance makers) actually make the parts touted as being "OEM".
It's not that the characteristics of a given control or component part aren't different between the ones used by Tappan or Trane or Rheem or Lennox or any of the other other appliance makers... they are.
The issue is that the differences should be inconsequential.
They only matter because Tappan or Trane or Rheem or Lennox has designed their OTHER outsourced components to NOT work (or not work as well) with one of the other very very similar control or component part that they could have used instead.

yeah, i understand that. the same factory shoots out the same part for all of them. just a different # and perhaps shape. but i don't want to take a chance.
i will just get those parts i linked. install them, to be sure they work. and just leave em in there. then i have the removed parts for a backup, that i may never need.
