Question

Bryant Plus 80 Squealing

Hello all.

I have an older model (1997 I think, came with the home) Bryant Plus 80. It works perfectly fine. We change the filters and i clean out the fan every now and again. A couple days ago I started hearing, randomly, a high pitched squeal. I looked into it and There is a small black wheel that is squealing. I tapped it and it stopped. I believe it is the inducer blower motor. I _think_ the replacement part number is HC21ZE117. However, is there anything that would cause this? is this a symptom or is it the actual problem? See attached pic. it's the small black wheel. I'm also not sure where to find the model number. There seem to be about 1000 stickers with numbers in there.

Thanks!
Jeff

The inducer motor's bearing are getting tight and wearing out.

at that age the bearings in the exhaust fan motor will wear out. It is a difficult job to change as you have to remove the fan and replace the squirrel cage wheel in the fan also and it is VERY easy to bend/warp and will vibrate badly later. May want to get a Pro to do it.
