Bryant Evolution Thermostat: Installation & Programming

Hey there!

I have a Bryant heating system that was dealer installed with the Bryant Evolution Thermostat. I'm not sure what happened, but the screen has died (although, thankfully, it continues to otherwise continue to work).

The dealer wanted $600 to replace it (OMG!)

A friend was able to hook me up with a used Evolution Thermostat and it seems easy enough to snap the old off and snap a new one in-- but I'm reluctant to just hope that it is "plug & play."

Can anyone give me the basics of what I need to do replace old with a new unit???

Thanks!

I have no idea which unit is older. Both units are the same model number.

Just plug it in? Don't these require some type of programming?
