Boots and registers

I have ductwork under the slab in my 10 year old house. Several of the floor boots have pulled away from the sides and are now curved. The registers no longer fit smoothly and are raised from the floor. Some of the registers have been forced into the space and are now also bent. I've attached an image of the boot. Is there an easy solution to this problem?

Boots and registers

Straighten out the boot, and fasten it to the slab with concrete tap cons

Here is the easy solution! Buy a new house, ok just kidding. Just cut the boot back with a very sharp knife to make the vent fit. The boot has done its job when the floor was poured, now its just in the way. Remove it and be done with it.

Good luck!
