Boiler primary / secondary loop

I am in the process of replacing a 30+ year old hot water boiler (oil) with a gas boiler. The current system has a single zone that runs the entire house. I'm reading a lot about primary / secondary piping, but can't find any details as to if it provides any value when there is only one circuit. it seems to me that with only one loop there would be no need for a primary / secondary setup. Any thoughts?

Boiler primary / secondary loop

On radiator systems. When you install the new boiler. It allows you to set up the boiler to have the water flow it needs. And the heating loop with the higher or lower water flow it needs.

Boiler primary / secondary loop

so you are saying i should still pipe it for the primary and secondary, even though there is only one heating loop?

Boiler primary / secondary loop

Yes.

Was your new boiler sized to the homes heat loss. Or the size of the radiators.
