blower runs for about a minute before the heat kicks in. fills rooms with cold air.

my furnace is a Goodman gmp100-3 rev b. When my blower comes on it fills my house with cold air for about a minute, then i hear the burner kick on. It takes it even longer to heat my house since all the cold air was pushed in for a minute. I've made sure the thermostat is configured for gas furnace properly. I was hoping to get some help with this and will appreciate any tips and troubleshooting given. Thank you very much.

Has it always done this?
If a new problem... how old is the furnace?

I had a similar issue. I have a gas furnace. I found that the thermostat (a Lowes bought Honneywell) was configured for an electric furnace.

For some reason, this caused the blower to kick on for about a minute before the burner.

Switching the thermostat to gas solved the problem.

On older thermostats, there are usually jumpers on the back for this. On new ones, there is generally a reset button, and then a series of "first time use" questions.

Squeaky wheel's are like that.

The blower isn't supposed to start until the burner has been on for a while
(and it should stay on for a while after the burner goes off too).

It might just be the $5 sensor it might be the $200 board the sensor relates to. Either way...

Some manuals to read:

Thermostat set up for electric heat is a very good possibility.

As others said, check thermostat configuration. Also, that model is known for popping its crimp rings. May want to watch if the flames start to jump around when the blower starts after you gt it to come on when it should.

i should have put this in the first post. The thermostat is configured correctly for gas furnace, i've already gone through their support to make sure i wasn't missing anything. I'll start browsing through that manual thanks, any other thoughts?

Short in the thermostat wires. Lower aux limit tripped(look on blower housing).
