Blower motor problem

The blower motor MOT6001 is 14 months old. When the hvac turns it on, it will run counter clockwise as it should, but at times it runs clockwise and the evaporator core freezes up. can this problem be fixed without replacing the motor?

Blower motor problem

I would say to replace the motor capacitor.

Its my understanding that the motor capacitor serves to give the motor a little bit of a push at startup. other wise, with alternating current, the motor just wiggles back and forth as the current alternates. The cap give give the motor a little push (in the correct direction) and after that momentum keeps it going. again just my layman's understanding, but I would bet money on a bad capacitor. Change the cap for a new one with the same capacitance and same or above "working voltage". be sure to mark the wires or take a really good couple of pictures of the old wiring!!!!
