blower motor not running

My Daughter has a Goodman A18-00 AC system. The blower motor will not run and it will trip the breaker about a minute after being rest.

The compresser is running outside and the cooling seems to be OK, just the blower fan is not running. The motor is not ceased up. Could it be the condenser on the blower or a bad thermstate?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Doubtful its the thermostat if its blowing a line voltage fuse.

Could be the motors capacitor, or the motor itself.

Thanks

I bought a new capacitor and installed it and everything is working well. Thanks you very much for the reply.

One more question, the only capacitor the shop had was a "run" capacitor. I've seen posts here that there is a difference between "start" and "run". Is this correct? and if so should order and install a start capacitor?

Thanks Again

Bill

if it was designed with just a run capacitor, that's all it should need. a start capacitor is different and uses a relay to give the motor winding extra "juice" on startup to get it going, then it shuts off and the run capacitor gives it constant juice while it is running.

Residential blower motors don't use a start cap. They only use a run cap.
