i have a old 70% american standard gas furnace, once i call for heat the furnace starts and it fires up, the blower comes on but shortly turns off , then on again ,off again continuously, what should i check? i am a very new hvac tech and i am stumped , any suggestions ?
could be a fan switch malfunction or out of adjustment. Could also be the motor kicking out on the thermal overload. Check for voltage to the motor when it stops. No voltage = fan switch, voltage = motor.
