Bleeder Valve vs Water Valve: Choices???
 

I have HW Baseboard heat and need to put bleeders in. I have seen those small water valves that go on water lines for ice-makers, humidifiers, etc. that clamp on and penetrate the copper line.

What is your opinion on using those as bleeder valves as opossed to opening the system and sweating a regular bleeder valve in at an elbow?

sooner or later they'll leak, there are some you can braze without draining the loop, Johnstone suppy sells them.

The water valves for ice makers are not designed to for the hot temps of a boiler. The rubber gasket will eventually leak and destroy your floor.

Do you have a friend that is a plumber?
