Bought a house in November, master bedroom is an addition with a crawl space underneath. Very cold room, almost 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house I think. Wanted to heat the crawl space, had the HVAC guy out today, the joists are staggered between the original house and the addition so he cannot insert lines into the crawl space. So, now we are at the point of looking at insulating the joists under the floor and adding radiant heat, probably over new carpet. Was wondering what brands and types available to Canadians you would all suggest (located in Edmonton, it was -40C with wind chill here all week, you can see why I want this sorted out).
might need to do all the insulating above the floor and minimal styrafoam sheets or spray foam in the crawl space the trick is to seal the heat in the room.they have electric floor heat with flooring going over it and it maintains the room.don't knoe about doing it over or under carpeting might have to loose the rug...check YOUTUBE for installation videos here is one..
