bathroom fan motor

The motor of my bathroom fan died. It's on older one that just plugs in up in the fan. Are they all the same or do i need to get a part number or something? Or can I just buy this one off Amazon and expect it to work?

It's always better to get the old part number or at least the specification and get the closest one if you can't get the exact same one.

Ya I know I just had a distant hope they'd all be the same, I'm away from home and won't be able to look for 16 or so days

Well, you have to take the old one off anyway, so........take it off and take it to the store and they will match you up with the right motor. When mine died, I just took the old one with me (it was a Broan model) and got the replacement.
