bathroom exhaust tee

hi. a question:
would it be allowable to tee together two bathroom exhaust vents in the attic before shooting them out the roof, so that a second roof cap would not be necessary? i would install a damper in each line before it got to the tee.
if not, why not?

Use a wye fitting instead of a tee and with backdraft dampers you'll be fine.

bathroom exhaust tee

thanks, mike. also, one more thing- i can't seem to find a single retailer in my area that sells the metal vent wye i'm looking for. would there be any problem in using a pvc wye? if a pvc wye is no good, is there anything i could do to make a tee work for me?
