The inducer motor/unit on my Bryant Plus 90i was whining rather loudly and I noticed 1 of the 3 screws that holds the inducer motor to the black plastic housing (well, to a bracket that is secured to the housing) had loosened and fell to the bottom of the entire furnace unit. The motor & its bracket were sitting further back and when I tried to line up that mounting point to put the screw back, it seemed like the fan inside the black housing (I assume its a fan) was pressed up against the back of the housing. I pushed on the back of the motor and it felt like it moved the fan blade further back onto the motor shaft (as if it was back to its original position). I was able to secure the screw again and let the furnace kick on, only to hear the whine was a quiet one that slowly got louder and now shuts off the furnace because it thinks its not venting the gas well enough.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong? I turned off the gas and furnace for now and plan to remove the inducer part tomorrow to see what is happening.
Also, does anyone have a part number for the entire inducer unit?
