attacking a condenser motor change out
and saving a $1000 in the process... grainger can cross reference any motor over the counter  and always bring in the condenser brand/mod/serial info with the motor. On his motor the bearings were shot  during the off season a cover on top of the condenser might of helped.always use the new capacitor with a new motor using the old one as a spare and that fan blade needs TLC don't drop it or bend the blades removing or installing it...will throw the condenser out of balance.cutting the shaft is OK as long as the blade is above the motor and not clipping wires..always free spin it to check clearences...the mounting nuts are catching the actual motor frame bolts being mounted upside down..and all condenser blow the air up into your face as designed.if you don't have a direction plug take note on the old motor CW or CWW electrical tag.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFGLB5JNF3g
