Aprilaire 500 blower connection

I have a new american standard furnace model "UY-9RV-V".

I want to connect the aprilaire 500 to the furnace blower fan and not use the heat on side. Any Suggestions?

Aprilaire 500 blower connection

Sorry Mike, My aprilaire is not putting out enough humidity. The unit runs only when the heat/fan is on which does not produce enough humitity. I want the unit to operate when I put the fan on manually in order to build up the humitity to the desired level and run also when the fan is on for the heat.

Thanks, hope that explains it better.

The only problem with running the fan and humidifier without heat is that you will be dumping that moist air in the system and the cooler air won't carry it away as well as heated air does, so it will stay in the ductwork and cause rusting and or mold issues. If the system doesn't run enough to keep the house humidity up you may want to switch over to a steam humidifier.

Mike,
Thanks for your reply and help. I am not getting any moisture at all from the unit. Water is running, hot air is coming thru from the hot air run. What now?

Is the bypass pipe hooked up? How are you reading the humidity level in the house? How old is the pad in the unit?
