Anyone try Lindab SPIROsafe?

Hello, I have a very confined crawlspace to put ducting in, and I came across Lindab SPIROsafe, which you can get as a double wall R8 insulated round duct that has EPDM gaskets meeting SMACNA Class 3 leakage = no warpping of insulation & no screws & no tape & no mastic, etc.

It isn't cheap, but it sure seems easy. Has anyone tried this product and how did it turn out?

http://www.lindab.com/USA/web_LINDAB..._submittal.pdf You still need to screw it! Just use single wall pipe and insulate it or use flex thats supported.

Ahhh, thank you, I missed that. That makes it less appealing, but it still may make it easier since there are portions where I can barely fit my body in the crawl space. I just can't imagine wrapping insulation down there.

I was told not to use flex, because of the chance of pests tearing up the flex. Is this normally an issue?

For normal single wall pipe, do I need to seal the joints normally? The Lindab gasketing seems to take care of that issue at least.

Just how small is your crawl space? #1 mice like insulation, so flex can be a problem, But if you can keep it off the ground it should last a wile. #2 if you use hard pipe tape the joints with foil tape then screw the joint, rap the pipe with 1.5" duct rap and get a small high school kid to install it for $$$
