Any Ideas? My AC Unit isn't coming on, inside or out?
My AC Unit just quit working? The Fan does not come on, I have tried heat, A/C, Fan Only... checked all the breakers, there fine. Changed to a new thermostat, still nothing, checked all connections. Went Outside, Checked the main unit, connections, breaker. It also was okay. I was able to remove the cover from the outside unit [Lennox] and the A/C "Compressor" Unit and fan come on when I manually pressed the relay switch. Any ideas what would cause the Main Unit to just not come on? I have my Yahoo messenger posted as well! Thanks to any suggestions! -Steve:huh:

Appears you have lost your control power,24v. Is the blower door on tight, some units have a safety switch on the furnace door. Are you handy with a volt meter? See if you have 24v across r and c on the furnace terminal strip.

Okay, Thanks, I will
Run and get an volt meter, mine is loaned out. back in 15mins with a reply!

Okay! I tried the Voltmeter
And the 240 Power I believe is out! I checked it and nothing happened. Any further suggestions? And can it be wired in direct anyhow? or? I realize probably not, Just some wishful thinking on our part cause it's hot! haha! Thanks for any advice!

How did everything turn out?
|
Well, I am happy to
Say that you were absolutely right. I did loose my 24v control power. Appears that the lawn guys weed whacked the outside wires exposing them and allowing them to touch. :eek:I found that and separated them and taped them back up securely. I ended up calling a repairman who came out yesterday. He replaced the transformer and explained to me that the lawn guy caused my transformer to go by hitting the wires. So he only charged me a service call of $80.00 and the part. Very courteous guys. But I owe it to you 8ball because they assumed I knew enough I think to keep them honest because I explained everything to them that I had tried and that the outside unit was working etc.... So my sincerest thanks. If you ever need and Computer help or networking etc. Let me know!!! haha! your the man! -Steve:thumbup:
